Hoop Toss - Flick, Arc, Swish
The carnival free-throw machine, in your browser. Flick the ball at the hoop: swipe speed is power, swipe angle is aim. Swishes score double, the hoop moves after every make, and at five straight the ball catches fire.
One flick, honestly simulated
Hoop Toss reads your actual flick: the speed of your finger in the last moments before release becomes the ball's launch power, and the direction of the swipe becomes its line. There is no aim assist and no trajectory preview; like the machine at the carnival, your hands learn the arc by throwing. Most people find the range inside ten balls, and that moment when your body knows the throw is the moment the game gets its hooks in.
The scoring is built to make streaks the whole story. Every make extends the streak and moves the hoop somewhere new; a swish, clean through the net without touching the rim, scores double; at five straight the ball catches fire and everything doubles again. A miss costs no time, there is no game over screen, the next ball is simply in your hand, but the streak dies, and the streak is the score that matters.
The whole game is one local web page. Your swipes are read by JavaScript in your browser and turned into ball flight on your own screen; nothing about how you play is transmitted anywhere, and your best streak lives in your browser's local storage. Load it once and it works in airplane mode.
How to play
- Put your finger (or mouse) on the ball and flick upward. The last bit of your swipe sets power and direction, so finish the flick toward the hoop.
- Find the range. Short flicks fall short, hard flicks bounce off the backboard. The right power becomes muscle memory within a few balls.
- Chase the swish. Clean through the net is double points. Rim-ins count, but the rim is a gamble.
- Lead the moving hoop. From streak five the hoop drifts. Throw at where it will be, not where it is.
- Protect the streak. Misses are free in time and fatal to the streak. That tension is the game.
Features
Real flick physics
Launch power and angle come from your actual swipe velocity at release, not from a power bar. Your hands do the aiming.
Streaks and fire mode
Makes move the hoop and build the streak; five straight ignites the ball and doubles everything. One miss resets it all.
No waiting, ever
No game-over screen. Miss or make, the next ball is in your hand within half a second.
Private by design
No account, no upload, no tracking. Best streak lives in local storage on your own device.
Frequently asked questions
My throws keep falling short.
Flick faster, not longer. Power comes from the speed of the last part of the swipe; a long slow drag releases a slow ball.
What counts as a swish?
Through the hoop without touching the rim. It scores double, and three swishes in a row is the fastest route to fire mode.
Does it need the gyroscope?
No. This one is all touch. It plays identically with a finger on a phone or a mouse on a desktop.
Where is my best streak saved?
In your browser's local storage, on your device only. Clearing site data resets it; nothing is synced to a server.
